Step inside the stunning Mechanics' Institute Library for a one-of-a-kind puzzle experience. The puzzle swap begins at 10 am. A tour of the landmark Beaux Arts building will be offered at 11 am. Community puzzling, on the library's large wood tables, will be available throughout the event until 2pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
This is a historic part of San Francisco, with a Beaux Arts building that's more than a century old and a rich tradition of art, history, and culture. It is home to the oldest continuously operating chess club in the United States. The library is two stories tall, with ornate columns, balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
In the Institute's own words: "Our mission is to connect people from all ages and backgrounds through art, history, and culture by providing a cultural hub in San Francisco."
The address is 57 Post Street, San Francisco. There are several public parking garages near the library. The nearest BART station is Montgomery Street. The library is less than a 1 mile walk from the Ferry Building and approximately half a mile from the Salesforce Transit Center.
Be good to planet and good to yourself! Since our first event here was such a great time, we're hosting another pop-up Puzzle Swap at Replenish Marketplace, Alameda's first refill and reuse store, where you can find goods for both home and body. Bring your puzzles to swap out for new ones, and bring some empty containers to fill with soap, shampoo, lotion, sunscreen, and more.
