Step inside the stunning Mechanics' Institute Library for a one-of-a-kind puzzle experience. The puzzle swap begins at 10 am. A tour of the landmark Beaux Arts building will be offered at 11 am. Community puzzling, on the library's large wood tables, will be available throughout the event until 2pm. Light refreshments will be provided.
This is a historic part of San Francisco, with a Beaux Arts building that's more than a century old and a rich tradition of art, history, and culture. It is home to the oldest continuously operating chess club in the United States. The library is two stories tall, with ornate columns, balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
In the Institute's own words: "Our mission is to connect people from all ages and backgrounds through art, history, and culture by providing a cultural hub in San Francisco."
The address is 57 Post Street, San Francisco. There are several public parking garages near the library. The nearest BART station is Montgomery Street. The library is less than a 1 mile walk from the Ferry Building and approximately half a mile from the Salesforce Transit Center.
Are you ready for a challenge? Assembly Puzzlery is organizing a giant community puzzle build of Ravensburger's 7,000 piece puzzle The Six Portals. The puzzle is donated by Instagram's ismokeandpuzzle and we'll be hosting a puzzle swap alongside this giant puzzle event! It all takes place at Gilman Brewing on Sunday, June 7 from 12 - 7:30pm (or until the last piece is done!).
Sign up for a puzzle shift to make sure that there are enough seats at the table. There is also the opportunity to join the pre-sorting party on Sunday, May 31 from 1 - 3pm. All events take place at Gilman Brewing in Berkeley.
